Encounter the exotic and experience an unforgettable family day out at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre at North Anston near Sheffield.
Meet animals from around the world in close-up Animal Encounters, presented by experienced Keepers at the centre; a wonderful opportunity to meet the most popular residents up close and maybe even get the chance to hold them.
The Aerial Antics free-flying bird show takes place daily, featuring spectacular birds of prey and free flying Macaws. The parrot show is also a must-see; where the most intelligent feathered residents of Tropical Butterfly House show off their incredible talents; including talking, skateboarding and even riding a bicycle!
The Butterfly House itself offers the chance to wander through a tropical paradise, discovering free-flying butterflies, tropical birds and even fruit bats. Meet snakes, lizards and incredible invertebrates; including leaf cutter ants, scorpions, giant millipedes and stick insects, as well as the adorable Pygmy Hedgehogs and Tenrecs. See Darwin, the Spectacled Caiman, basking in his private pool (he's a species of crocodile that can grow up to 8ft long!) and the tiny Marmoset Monkeys too!
Friendly farm animals such as goats, pigs, chickens and the centre’s Shetland Pony, will be there to greet you in the Farm Barn and there are many other amazing animals around the centre to say hello to; don’t forget to visit Prairie Dog Camp, Meerkat Mansion and the Small Animal House; home to rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets, mice and more.
The Tropical Butterfly House has both an indoor Activity Centre; where children of all ages can enjoy crafts, games and activities, and an outdoor Play Park which includes a sandpit, pedal cars and a zip-wire.

Opening in Spring 2012: Realm of Camelot; a unique adventure play experience for children, with towers, tunnels, slides and more!
The centre is open daily throughout the year except a few days around Christmas and has an exciting programme of themed family events. Located just 5 minutes from the M1, junctions 31.
